About

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth from around 5th or 6th grade through high school or until the scout reaches 18 years of age. Adventure, service, community engagement and leadership development are important parts of the Scouts BSA program.  Our troop is youth-lead, we plan our own activities with the guidance of the Scoutmaster and other adult leaders and we and work our ways toward earning Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle.

The Purpose of Boy Scouts of America

“The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.”

“On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the scout law, To help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”

“The Scout Law: A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.”

There are numerous other benefits that come from actively participating in scouts, such as:

  1. Learning outdoor skills
  2. Building confidence in the scout that he can overcome fears and succeed in new challenges.
  3. Develop leadership skills
  4. Foster friendships
